Romy is an actor, intimacy coordinator, director, and audiobook narrator/voice artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, New Zealand.

Romy is an actor, intimacy coordinator, director, and audiobook narrator/voice artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland NZ. With an Associate Diploma to Teach Speech and Drama from Trinity College London, and a Bachelor of Performing Arts: Acting from Toi Whakaari NZ Drama School, she has been an active member of the stage and screen industry for over 20 years. She is a writer for theatre and screen, has been an Auckland Champion for the New Zealand Poetry Slam and was invited to be international headliner at Boomtown Festival in Bristol, UK with her spoken word solo show ‘Love and Other Noise.’ She is an award winning director, and has been a facilitator, producer and tour manager for Hobson Street Theatre Company, between starring in comedic and dramatic roles in film and television. 

She has been narrating audiobooks for Blind + Low Vision NZ for a decade, and has narrated numerous titles for Audiobooks NZ, as well as romantic fiction titles for Podium Audio in the US.

Romy is a trained intimacy coordinator on the pathway to accreditation through Intimacy Directors and Coordinators, Theatrical Intimacy Education and Intimacy Professionals Association, (based in the US) and is a member of Intimacy Coordinators Aotearoa under the leadership of Jennifer Ward-Lealand.

She is a proactive member of Equity New Zealand advocating for actors rights and spearheads their subcommittee for regulation of the use of artificial intelligence in commercial and long form voice production.
